This is a detailed practical guide for all fractures of the hand and carpus (from the wrist down, but excluding distal radial fractures). Hand fractures constitute 25% of all fractures and are treated by a wide range of specialists, ranging from orthopaedic surgeons to general practitioners, many of whom are unfortunately unclear on the proper treatment method for such fractures.
